Lisa Jayne Cramer makes photographs about the human condition, living, ageing, loss, grief, our bodies of sorrows, our bodies of joy, and investigates the meaning of home and motherhood from both the observer point of view and autobiographically. Raised in a male-dominant family she uses her experience as a daughter, sister and wife to investigate concepts of family, home and their influences on self.

Lisa associates her photography with absence, deferring her urge of maternal love and tenderness onto her lens, using various methods and processes, which include her medium format film camera, poetry and text to portray the complexions of her mind.
